The Kegg’s Candies Chocolate Factory is a customer friendly production facility. As such, it was built with a separate factory tour entrance and a 90 foot long glass wall exposing a clear view of the entire chocolate making process. You'll see how raw ingredients are still cooked the old fashioned way using copper pots and wooden ladles in the candy kitchen. You'll follow the formed candy centers as they move down our enrobing lines and are covered on all sides with rich milk and dark chocolate. You'll see chocolate miraculously transformed into more than 500 unique shapes in our moulding area. You'll follow individual chocolates, confectionery pieces and candies through the packaging area and see how the product is made ready for sale in our retail stores and for shipping to customers nationwide. The tour ends in Kegg’s colorful 2,000 sq. ft.  chocolate factory retail store where you’ll find over 600 handmade chocolates, confections, candies and sweet gift items as well as our freshly made frozen custard and 10 flavors of  Italian ice. This is an especially fun part of your visit and where free samples of our delicious tasting signature confections can be had with ease.

You will also learn about the cocoa processing, the chocolate and confectionery manufacturing process as well as the history and tradition of Kegg’s Candies, Houston’s longest established and only “full line” chocolate manufacturing company. Kegg’s Candies has become a Houston institution since its inception in 1946 and the tradition continues today.  Kegg’s Candies is the preferred source for everyday confectionery treats as well as exclusive holiday and special occasion confectionery gifts for that special someone.

You will see, touch and feel an actual cocoa pod and learn how the cocoa plant, the cocoa pod and the cocoa bean play an important role in producing the chocolate candies we all love to consume.

Group tours that are scheduled in advance are met by a Kegg’s Factory Tour representative that will guide you through the facility and provide information and answer questions. For groups smaller than 10 people or individuals, tours are self guided at the customers own schedule and pace. So just stop by any time during tour hours when it’s convenient for you. A Kegg’s Candies employee is always available to answer questions and explain what is being produced on any particular day.
